When the auction ends, the Geo Web’s partial common ownership market land market will continue with a minimum value of .005 ETH.
Appreciating The Merge: Weekly Update #86
The Merge is about more than ETH issuance reduction, energy usage, and blockchain security models. It demonstrates the values and unwavering commitment of the Ethereum core engineers and community that we should all appreciate. Plus updates from the Geo Web project (9/1/22 - 9/14/22).
Harberger Tax Misconceptions: Weekly Update #85
Harberger taxes (aka partial common ownership) continue to be one of the hottest topics in crypto/NFT Twitter. The growing awareness is great, but there are some persistent misconceptions that we need to try to clean up. Plus updates from the Geo Web project (8/18/22 - 8/31/22).
Explicit Financial Incentives & The Public Good: Weekly Update #82

Slaying Moloch: Weekly Update #81
Moloch is the God of Coordination Failure. “Slaying Moloch” (i.e. getting people to work together toward mutually beneficial goals) is a popular rallying cry/meme in the Ethereum community largely due to the efforts of MolochDAO and their commitment to public goods funding. This week’s blog is a (partial) repost of a grant application that we recently submitted to them. Plus updates from the Geo Web project (7/21/22 - 7/27/22).
Smart contracts are the next AWS: Weekly Update #76
AWS and the public cloud are cited as key reasons for the explosion of startups in the last ~15 years. Smart contracts and similar primitives will unlock at least another order of magnitude of capital efficiency and scalability for the next wave of innovation. Plus updates from the Geo Web project (6/16/22 - 6/22/22).
Nothing New Under the Sun: Weekly Update #59
Innovation is more about connecting ideas and the evolution of an environment around an idea than lightning bolts of genius. The more we embrace that fact, the better. Plus updates from the last week on the Geo Web project (1/27/2022 - 2/2/2022).
Land on the Blockchain: Weekly Update #53
The allure of blockchain-based land ownership is apparent. The efficiency, transparency, and reduced legal complexity of real estate transactions could be huge. How and if we get to that end state is TBD. Plus updates from the last two weeks on the Geo Web project (11/18/21 - 12/01/021).
Paying it Forward: Weekly Update #46
Yeah, smart contracts are foundational to building more positive-sum games, but the social norm of generosity is one of the most powerful things that Ethereum has going for it. Plus updates from last week on the Geo Web project (9/23/21 - 9/29/21).
Possession is nine-tenths of NFT display: Weekly Update #42

Gitcoin & Other Internet put out an open call for public goods (https://gitcoin.co/blog/seeking-a-new-kind-of-public-good/). Here's our submission proposing an augmented, shared reality. Plus updates from the last week on the Geo Web project (8/12/21 - 8/18/21).
The Ethereum Social Layer: Weekly Update #38
The controversy around intentional block reorgs on Ethereum is just the latest example of the importance of not just technical factors, but social ones in creating crypto networks/applications. Plus updates from the last week on the Geo Web project (7/15/21 - 7/21/21).
Digital Real Estate Development: Weekly Update #35
The Geo Web’s partial common ownership system assesses costs to squatting on digital land and encourages investment and productive use. But what does digital real estate development even look like? That plus updates from the last week on the Geo Web project (6/23/21 - 6/29/21).
Reimagining Property Rights: Weekly Update #34
Private property rights are foundational for modern society. Implementing challenging new ideas around them is bound to stir up strong feelings, but we press on at the Geo Web. That plus updates from the last week on the Geo Web project (6/16/21 - 6/22/21).
Public Goods = Positive-Sum Games: Weekly Update #33
Gitcoin Grant Round 10 is live today, so we’re shilling a bit then exploring why funding public goods and open source software on the internet is so impactful. That plus updates from the last week on the Geo Web project (6/9/21 - 6/15/21).
