Claim Geo Web Land, Receive OP

With the Geo Web land market live and our roadmap to augmented, shared reality laid out, it’s time to dedicate more attention to driving network adoption. We’ve laid the groundwork for our public goods flywheel, but we need to jumpstart it.

So today, we’re excited to announce the start of a program that rewards you just for claiming Geo Web land parcels.

The first 1,000 Geo Web land claims made after April 17th, 2023 at 00:00 UTC will earn the claiming address an OP token reward as follows:

• Claims 1 - 200 = 2.5 OP/parcel
• Claims 201 - 800 = 2 OP/parcel
• Claims 800 - 1000 = 1.5 OP/parcel

OP rewards will be paid out retroactively to minting addresses monthly (starting May 17th) until the rewards are exhausted. To maintain the spirit of the grant and the Geo Web land market broadly, rewards will be limited to 10 qualifying parcels per address.

Each Geo Web land claim is an act of coordination and a public good. Beyond the fact that 100% of the Geo Web land market revenue subsequently funds public goods, becoming a Geo Web land licensor/publisher makes the network more valuable. It gives users more reason to choose the open metaverse over the alternatives, which in turn attracts more publishers.

The Geo Web is driven by the idea that it pays off to coordinate–within this program very directly. We’re grateful to the Optimism Collective for sharing that vision and providing OP Growth Grant that makes this initiative possible.
